# Launch partners and referrals

A **referral** attributes one launch to a signed referrer. A **Launch Partner** is a member of a protocol-wide, time-bounded campaign. They are related fee programs but not interchangeable, and they may earn from the same eligible fee collection.

## Referrals

* The referral must be authorized and committed at launch.
* Current guarded contracts support a 5% referral share for 30 days.
* Referral eligibility is evaluated at collection time and ends when the launch's committed referral expiry is reached.
* If no active referral exists, or after the referral expires, that 5% returns to protocol.
* Launch-time Community settings and Community governance cannot create or redirect referral rights.
* Attribution remains publicly associated with the launch after fee eligibility expires.

## Genesis Launch Partner campaign

The published campaign window runs from **16 September 2026 00:00 UTC** inclusive to **16 October 2026 00:00 UTC** exclusive, with 25 fixed slots and a 5% pool allocation. Collection time determines campaign eligibility.

During that window, the Launch Partner allocation is independent of per-token referral payout. If a collection is also inside the launch's active referral window, both allocations apply.

With Community Mode enabled and both temporary programs active, **20%** goes to protocol and **70%** remains the fixed Creator + Community block. The default Community policy produces 60% Creator, 10% Community, 20% protocol, 5% referral, and 5% Launch Partner pool. A creator may instead choose a Community share from 10%–70% at launch; Creator receives `70% - Community`, while the 20% protocol, 5% referral, and 5% Launch Partner shares remain unchanged in that fully loaded case.

Each active partner slot receives exactly 1/25 of the campaign credit. Inactive portions return to protocol; they do not increase other partners’ shares.

At the exclusive campaign end, new collections stop contributing to the Launch Partner pool automatically. A referral that has not yet reached its own expiry can continue earning afterward. Likewise, a referral may expire while Genesis remains active; in that case its unused 5% returns to protocol while the independent 5% Launch Partner allocation continues.

Claims are bound to the eligible partner wallet and campaign slot. Already accrued value remains claimable after new earnings are deactivated.

Campaign dates and activation are deployment policy, not a recurring promise.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.souless.fun/economics/partners-referrals.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
